Investigating Pi

Task Description: Yesterday for maths we learnt about Pi ( not pie ). First I measured the diameter using a ruler and I measured the circumference with a string. Then I divided the circumference by the diameter the answer is called Pi. The value is a little over 3 0r just 3

Suffixes & Prefixes

Task description: for writing, Team Tui learnt about suffixes & prefixes. A prefix is a word or part of another word that is placed in the front of another word to change its meaning, a example of this is unknown.  A suffix is used at the end of the word to change the original meaning an example of this is, Sleeping.

Task description: Today for maths we had to make graphs in google sheets. It was about a survey. So first we had to write down the table then we made graphs, the graphs I made were pie graph, doughnut graph, column graph and bar graph.

Matariki festival reflection

Reflection:

To be honest we have learnt a lot from these 8 weeks. Not only have we learnt more Myths & Legends but we also learnt a handful about Matariki.I learnt stuff that I thought was useless, but now I know. Now if you would ask me a question about any of these Myths & Legends, I would answer super quick. Our stall was pretty cool but i think we should do is more promoting to make our stall a little bit more successful so we could make more money. Even so I think my groups stand was the best.

 

Fun with protractor

Task Description: What are the steps to figure out this equation?

  1.  First put one ray of the angle on the 0° mark
  2. Put the centre of the protractor where the two rays meet
  3. Read the angle starting from the 0° mark

Distance – Math W5 Term 3

For Mondays maths task we had to make a group of 3 and pick out a measuring equipment and we played around. The equipment i chose was the measuring tape for the first 5 minutes we measured the height of our group members. Then we made a shape, it was a house shape. Then we added the measurements and found the perimeter .
